The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) is a regulatory body established to oversee technical and vocational education and training in Tanzania. One of the statutory functions of NACTVET as stipulated in Sections 5(1) (e), 5(1) (j), 11 and 12 (b) of the NACTVET Act, Cap. 129, as well as in the National Technical and Vocational Awards Regulations (GN No. 223 of 5th August 2005) is to “establish and make awards which are consistent in standard and comparable to related awards in Tanzania and internationally”.
Scope
Qualifications assessment / Awards Equivalency is for qualifications/ awards provided by TVET institutions abroad with no university status.
Exclusion
All applicants and prospective applicants are informed that qualifications assessment is not conducted to qualifications/awards mentioned hereunder;
(i) Awards obtained from Tanzanian education and training institutions, since they have been registered and using the Competence Based Curricula in providing training leading to National Technical Awards;
(ii) Qualifications/awards obtained from institutions which are not officially recognized as part to a national education system or non-accredited by their countries of origin.
(iii) Qualifications/Awards obtained from and managed by professional bodies;
(iv) Qualifications/awards obtained as a result of attending Short Courses, in-service training, workshop/seminars and experiential learning;
(v) Prior learning acquired outside a national system of education and training;
(vi) Qualifications/awards obtained from non-existing or ceased training institutions or authority; and
(vii) Religious and military related awards/courses/programmes offered for specific purposes and specialized operations other than academic.
